Her father was John Frederick Chalklin, born 23 October, 1877 in Milton, Kent and died 24 October, 1951 in Barking, Essex. Her mother was Eliza Elizabeth Amy Thaxter. They married on 4 August, 1900 in Longfield, Kent.

My mother had three older brothers, John Albert Charles, Thomas Arthur, Albert James, and one younger brother Joseph Crawley. All are now dead.

John and Thomas had no children. Albert had one son, also Albert, now deceased. Joseph emigrated to Canada after the war and has two children, Joseph and Pamela. When I visited them in 1975 they lived in Hamilton, Ontario.

I have lost touch with both of these cousins. 

My mother married Frederick William James Hall on 27 August, 1939, and I am their only child.

My mother's paternal grandparents were James Chalklin and Annie Mount, but I have been unable to find out anything about them.

Chalklin is a rare name. There are only 33 Chalklins in the UK telephone directory. So, I would be pleased to hear from any Chalklins, especially if you are researching the family name. I have obtained quite a lot of information from the Family History Centre in an effort to find my great-grandparent's marriage certificate, which I would be happy to share.
